The Rose & Womble Foundation’s 21st annual Turkey Brigade was a huge success due largely to the generosity of our agents and sponsors. The Foundation, entirely though agent, staff, and sponsor donations raised over $24,500 dollars to feed families throughout Hampton Roads a full Thanksgiving dinner including turkey, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, apples, rolls, various vegetables, and aluminum roasting pan.
“It’s the best time of year when we are working on the Brigade,” said Rose & Womble Foundation President Julia Diehl. “It is critical for us to contribute to our community, especially with so many families still affected by the government shutdown and economy.”
The Deltaville Market helped to provide the meals at a substantial discount to enable the brigade to feed as many as possible. The items for the dinners arrived early Thursday November 21 at the Rose & Womble Harbour View location and were distributed by employees from Deltaville Market and Supervalu. Agents and staff members from various departments and offices throughout Rose & Womble came to pick up and then distribute meals in many locations throughout Hampton Roads. Members of the USMC and USNAVY also came to collect and distribute dinners.
