Each week, Jen brings an adoptable dog with her while she features an available new home or new homes community. As if that isn’t cool enough, each new homes builder sponsors the dog by paying for its adoption fees once a suitable owner is found!
This week, Ask Jen Live took a trip to the Hampton Roads’ Peninsula to feature the New Homes communities of Buckroe Bayfront, Carter Estates, built by HHHunt Homes.

What’s Nearby?
Today I visited the cities of Hampton, Newport News, and Gloucester. The Peninsula section of Hampton Roads is a booming area that offers great water access, and tons of things to do including Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and Colonial Williamsburg. The Peninsula is just a quick trip through the Hampton Roads or the Monitor Merrimack Tunnels and is a great option for home buyers looking for great value.
Buckroe Bayfront:
My first stop was the beautiful beachfront homes at Buckroe Bayfront located in Hampton. These homes have a sophisticated coastal flair and homeowners enjoy sidewalks and tons of outdoor recreation that living on the beach offers. The Westcott plan features three bedrooms, two and half baths, gourmet kitchen, and tons of designer options. The location provides convenience to our service members at Langley Air Force Base and Hampton University is nearby too.

Carter Estates
Next stop on my tour was Carter Estates, located in Newport News, right down the street from Fort Eustis and the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station. This is a quaint community of only 20 homes nestled amongst the trees and features large homesites and gorgeous traditional style homes. With four different plans to choose from, HHHunt has homesites available to build your dream home starting at three bedrooms and up. Homeowners have the unique option of adding a wrap-around porch and a three-car garage to their home as well as a third floor. You can also add a screened porch to enjoy a bug-free summer of al fresco dining. Living in this area, you’ll be able to take advantage of the Newport News Park, a great place to spend the afternoon.
River Club at Twin Island:
Heading North on Rt. 17, my final stop today was River Club at Twin Island. Homebuyers here benefit from low maintenance and have created a wonderful retreat. You can choose from four different plans including the popular Randolph model with the master bedroom on the first floor. Residents at River Club enjoy breathtaking views from the gazebo overlooking the York River. There’s also a pool, clubhouse, and boaters can take advantage of a storage area for their boats.
