Our New Homes Specialist, Jen Barkan, is proud to host a weekly social media chat called #AskJenLive! Every Wednesday, Jen brings an adoptable dog with her while she features an available new home or new homes community on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. As if that isn’t cool enough, each new construction builder that participates in the program sponsors the dog by paying for its adoption fees once a suitable owner is found! Jen is 100% committed to finding people and pets their forever homes in Hampton Roads and beyond! She has five dogs of her own at home, and each one is a very special member of the Barkan household!
This Wednesday, I was lucky enough to pick up this handsome boy, Happy, from the Norfolk SPCA. Happy is a Pit Bull mix that was rescued by the Norfolk SPCA from a kill shelter that was overcrowded in the midst of the holiday season. Happy is a young boy, and has an amazing personality. Pit bulls used to be viewed as “nanny dogs.” Happy absolutely loves everyone, and would make a wonderful companion.
Happy and I went to Sherborne Manor by Platinum Homes in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake, just past the well-known White’s Nursery. We arrived and were immediately greeted by the on-site Realtor, Carmon Pizzanello. Carmon took us to see the Lake Ridge In-Law plan which is a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home that boasts 3,100 square feet. This floor plan allow for a separate generational suite, and a three car garage. I can’t think of a community where I have seen anything like this in our area. The price point makes this home even more appealing, priced under $450k. 
Our featured floor plan for today’s #AskJenLive is the Canyon Ridge. The Canyon Ridge is a spacious 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, 3,400 SF home, that starts at $399,990. This model features an office, bedroom, and optional sunroom on the first floor. It even allows for a sixth bedroom for the ultimate flexibility!
While we were there, Brandon Ramsey from George Mason Mortgage, LLC was cooking up some delicious Brunswick stew and cornbread for some of our friendly real estate partners. Even Brad Waitzer from Platinum Homes dropped by to say hello. It is amazing to have local builders who are so involved and want to be on site and interact with the people who are considering their homes for their families.
Their Lake Ridge Model Home has an amazing outdoor entertainment area with an outdoor fireplace! Happy and I definitely enjoyed a few minutes outside relaxing.
